With all due respect, Dahn Yoga is not a cult, never was a cult and never will be a cult. Dahn Yoga is an excellent Korean-based yoga practice that helps millions worldwide like me each year. The issue is not with Dahn Yoga. The issue is with Amy Shipley. She had a very difficult and troubled childhood and needs more therapy to deal with this and other problems she mentions herself. She thinks the problem is everyone other than herself. Sadly, she must look within herself for help and not blame other people or organizations. Once again I feel the need to provide another side of Ms. Amy Shipley's story, besides the one she is now selling in order to get this kind of sensational exposure.Ms. Shipley practiced and taught at Dahn Yoga with me.Prior to starting Dahn Yoga, I knew Ms. Shipley fairly well as a friend. She had many problems with her life- as some people do- and she routinely shared about having been abused and having made irresponsible choices in her life.At Dahn Yoga Amy took advantage of many people's desire to help her become a stronger, more successful person. She received money and support from others, was enthusiastic (not forced) about training, and only started blaming Dahn for her problems after a young man who had previously quit convinced her to attend some sort of 'cult' education, which in reality sounds very manipulative.Basically, she is now blaming Dahn yoga for the things she used to blame her family and her own irresponsible choices.
